San Antonio ~ Mission San Jose

We started the day with a great bike ride on the e-bikes to Mission San Jose. We spent a fair amount if time walking around the mission and learning about the interaction between theSpanish missionaries and the Native Americans This mission was much more interesting than the Mission San Juan we had visited earlier. The mission was just down the River Walk trail about a mile and a half from our RV site. We got out before the temps got too high

After touring the mission, we rode further to a park where the mission burial ground was and rode around in that park a bit before returning to the trailer. The entire ride was just under 12 miles but with the walkabouts we were still out for about 3 hours.

After our ride we drove to town to meet Annie’s parents and siblings who were visiting. We had lunch at a BBQ restaurant called Dignowity Meats. WE enjoyed a great lunch and visit before driving Cory and Annie home. We stayed for a visit there before returning to our campsite. Once back at our trailer I went to get the batteries out of the bikes for charging and was attacked by ants. They swarmed me and were biting like crazy, interesting way to end the day!
