Newport Day 5
Otter Crest Loop
We spent today casually sight seeing the area immediately north of Newport. With no particular agenda we headed out and spent the afternoon on the Otter Crest Loop which includes Cape Foulweather/Otter Crest, Devil’s Punchbowl, and Otter Rock. This loop and the waysides are one of our favorite areas on the Oregon coast.
As always when at Otter Crest/Cape Foulweather, we were intrigued by The Inn at Otter Crest while looking at it from the view point. It was disappointing that “The Lookout” at Cape Foulweather was closed due to the pandemic. We have always enjoyed the views from inside and chatting with the volunteers there.
Of course we made a stop at the ice cream shop at Devil’s Punch Bowl. It was interesting to watch all the surfers on the beach below.
